Understanding sales tax

Sales tax can vary from order to order based on where the order is shipped and the items being purchased. Double Good calculates sales tax in real time during checkout.

Why sales tax may vary

Sales tax may be different depending on:

  • The shipping address
  • State, city, and county tax rules
  • The flavors or products in the order
  • Local tax rules for specific product types

Some locations tax certain products differently. For example, some items may be taxed differently depending on local food or sugar-related tax rules.

Why 2 orders may have different tax amounts

Two orders may show different sales tax totals if they have:

  • Different shipping addresses
  • Different items or flavors
  • Different quantities
  • Different local tax rules based on the delivery location

What to do if something looks incorrect

If you believe the sales tax on your order is incorrect, contact Double Good Support with your order details.

If you are comparing 2 orders, include:

  • Both order numbers
  • The shipping address for each order
  • The items included in each order
  • A brief description of what looks different or incorrect

The support team can review the information and help determine whether the sales tax was calculated as expected.

Note

For questions about specific tax rules in your area, we recommend consulting a local tax professional.
